Hermano Castillo, better known as Polaris Castillo. You've been a source of inspiration in MY LIFE, since back in 2007 / 2008. We were (respective to our own worlds), two introverted kids who could never find comfort in the "systematic" approval of things. Always thinkers outside the box, always willing to go against the norm to preserve the integrity of our art. Here we are, over a decade later, finally starting to find stride in our efforts. I'm proud of you foo, for never turning your back on your culture, for never giving up on yourself. This meet up today was special in a lot of ways, and I'm happy that we've lived long enough to appreciate the enjoyment of reflection. Thank you for that, and for the memories made.
Speaking specifically about your artwork (still cased in their plastic wrapping in the photo), what a privilege it is, to have such beautiful creations to place on my wall. Not just one, but ten pieces. These works pay homage to the complexities within the cultures of the indigenous people of The Americas, and also, a celebration of love, and all of its faces.
I look forward to framing these in the days to come, and appreciating this awesome contribution to my space. Thank you hermano, your existence means more to the world then you'll ever truly comprehend. Also, thank you to Aster, for capturing these moments. Conversations between two brothers.
